Thumping and embossing

Hello there, so glad you dropped by

I loved making this card for a dear friend of mine.  Embossing on vellum and then colouring it on the reverse side looks really good to me.  I also used the thumping method for the butterflies, stamping in one colour and then thumping (gently tapping randomly with a marker) with another colour. Tried to make sure it was done with current materials but didn't quite make it.

The materials used are:
Ink: So saffron, VersaMark
Markers: So saffron, Wild wasabi
Card stock: So saffron, Whisper white, Wild wasabi
Stamps: Butterfly basics, Papillon potpourri, Something lacy
Framelits: Apothecary accents
Punches: Bitty butterfly, Elegant butterfly
Ribbon: taffeta so saffron (retired) nearly made one with no retired items
Accessories: Basic pearls, Essentials piercing template, White embossing powder, White vellum

Embossing powder: White

Will be back again soon with more cards

Apothecary art meets petite pairs

Hello there, so glad you dropped by

The weather here has been great this last week and so not a lot of work being done, like to get out and about while the sun shines.

Today is the first of two wedding cards I'm sending this year.  It was back in March and the day after our own anniversary. The day was lovely and the bride looked amazing.

I used a colour as close to the wedding colours as I could get, and heat embossed all the stamping.  It looked nicer that way (I tried both ways) it was amazingly easy to do, which is how I like my cards to be. The worst part was the Forever and Aways banner, I never seem to be able to do the V shape at either end.  Will need to ask my friend Peg about an easy fix, she's marvellous with all her hints and tips.

The materials used are:

Inks: Pool party,VersaMark
Embossing powder: Pool party
Card stock: Pool party, whisper white
Base card: none SU
DSP: Irresistibly yours
Stamps: Apothecary art, Loving thoughts (retired), Petite pairs
Embossing folder: Perfect polka dots
Framelits: Labels collection
Punches: Artisan label
Ribbon: organza
Accessories: Pearl basic jewels

Will be back again soon with more cards

Hello you

Hello there, so glad you dropped by

Today it's going to be my Anniversary card to Hubby.  This was actually last month and yes I'm still very behind in my blogging, but hope to catch up a bit in the next couple of weeks.  He loves the colour red and so I always use a lot of red in his cards.  He say's they cost him a fortune, but after 22 years he still loves me so that's good.

The materials used are:

Ink: raspberry ripple (retired)
Card Base: whisper white
DSP: stacked with love
Embossing folder: arrows (retired?)
Stamps: hearts a flutter (retired), memorable moments
Punches: modern label
Thinlits: hearts a flutter, hello you

Will be back again soon with more cards

Lovely lace meets butterfly basics

Hello there, so glad you dropped by

Today I'm showing you a card I made for a special friend of mine, it was her birthday last month, but as I said the other day I'm way behind with my blogging. When we went to see them last weekend (had a wonderful time, we just love Wales) she wanted to know how I did the colouring of the flowers and and leaves and of course all I did was show it debossed side up and coloured in the on the other side with my markers.

The materials used are:

Markers: So Saffron, Wild Wasabi
Card Stock: Whisper White, White Vellum
Card base: none SU
Stamp Sets: Butterfly Basics
Embossing Folders: Lovely Lace
Ribbon: Taffeta So Saffron (retired)
Thinlits: Butterflies
Accessories: Basic Pearls

Will be back again soon with more cards
