Soft and Simple

Simply Sweet
A dull day here in the West Midlands but I'm cosy and warm in my craft room with nothing to do all day but play. Oh what joy!!!

This is a card I made using the stamp set flowering fields from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue, you can earn this set free if you spend £45 and if you don't like this one there are plenty more to choose from.

I used my markers and then did a little blending with my Aqua painter to give the petals and leaves a bit of depth and it looks really good. I don't use DSP often enough I buy it and it just sits on my shelf looking very pretty so I decided I need to use it more often and although the one I used on this card is very old there are plenty out there that would look just as pretty.

The materials used are:
Ink: Rich Razzleberry
Markers: Perfect Plum, Wild Wasabi
Card stock: Shimmer
Stamps: Balloon Celebration, Flowering Fields
DSP: Cottage Wall (retired)
Accessories: Aqua Painter, Sequin Trim, Wave cutting Blade

My inspiration came from Brandy Cox, thank you for sharing Brandy

Will be back again soon with more cards

Guy Greetings

For A Great Guy
Today I'm showing a card I made for one of our neighbours he's a great guy and always has time to say hello and have a chat.  In fact if Roy goes to the shops and takes more than ten minutes I know he's bumped into Dave and will probably be well over half an hour, they could win a talk for Britain competition if there was one.

I have also had a breakthrough as this card has NO retired elements on it, well done me. I'm so glad that the woodland textured embossing folder has not been retired off after all.

The materials used are:
Ink:Crumb Cake, Early Expresso, Soft Suede
Card stock: Early Expresso, Whisper White
Stamps: Boys Will Be Boys, Gorgeous Grunge, Guy Greetings
Embossing folders: Woodland Textured
Framelits: Lots of Labels
Thinlits: Gift Card Envelope
Accessories: Candy Dots

Will be back again soon with more cards

A Little Bit of Sunshine

Spring Is In The Air

Or it was the day I made the card, here in the Midlands it's rather wet and windy today.

I was browsing the blogs I follow the other day and found a card similar to this one and just new it was what I wanted to do for a friend of mine. Again it is a mixture of old and new, the ribbon is very old as is the embossing folder but it's one I keep using and the stamp sets are bang up to date.  I used the thumping technique for the butterfly and for the leaves I stamped on the card before embossing then stamped again on a scrap piece of card stock before (yes Peg) fussy cutting them out and slightly overlapped on the original stamping.  Loved the effect.

The materials used are:
Ink: Crushed Curry, Old Olive, So Saffron
Markers: Old Olive
Card stock: Old OliveWhisper White
Stamps: Butterfly Basics, Grateful Bunch
Embossing folders: Perfect Polka Dots (retired)
Punches: Bitty Butterfly, Blossom Bunch
DSP: DSP Stack Brights (retired)
Ribbon: Taffeta So Saffron (retired)
Accessories: Basic Pearls
