Thanks A Million

A Big Thank You Cousin

Thanks for dropping by today

I've got a thank you card which is quite unusual for me, I don't do cards like this very often as I usually see people I want to say thank you to. But this time I needed to do a very big one (figuratively speaking) as my cousin gave me a beautiful picture of one of my Grand Daughters taken nearly six years ago, she was only about 6 weeks old. I've put it in the alcove going up my stairs and it looks really lovely there.

I've had the Elegant dots embossing folder for ages and this is the first time I've used it, I love the effect and it's so delicate I will use it a lot more now. In fact I have at least another two cards I've used it on. So keep watching.

The materials used are:
Markers: Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz

Card stock: Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White
Stamps: Butterfly Basics, Papillon Potpourri, What I Love (SAB retired)
Embossing folders: Elegant Dots
Punches: Washi Label, Word Window
Framelits: Oval Collection
Accessories: Basic Pearls, Wink of Stella

Will be back again soon with more cards

Punch Art, game on

Game On Thomas
It was my nephew once removed's  birthday at the beginning of the month and I was stumped for what to get him.We don't see him very often as he's at the age of being into football etc and never in. Asked my sister and she told me the best thing was vouchers for the Game store as he is an avid gamer. This gave me an idea for his card. Looked at few on Pinterest and this is what I came up with.

If you are wondering where the Illuminate was used it is behind the main stamping on the screen part.  The make a Wish stamp from the same set is stamped all over it as a background, you can just about make out the WISH between the Happy Birthday and Because You're Awesome.

I was told the week after his birthday that he loved it so it was worth while doing.

The materials used are:
Ink: Pacific Point, Illuminate (retired)
Card stock: Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Real Red, Tangerine Tango, Tempting Turquoise, Smoky Slate, Very Vanilla
Stamps: Botanicals For You (SAB retired), Party Wishes
Punches: 1/2 Circle, Cupcake Builder, Itty Bitty Shapes (retired), Owl Builder
Framelits:
Thinlits: Gift Card Envelope
DSP: Retro (retired)
Bakers twine: White

Shape idea for the gamer taken from Pinterest

Will be back again soon with more cards

Warmest Wishes

Confetti In Colour
Having bought the confetti embossing folder I thought I'd better use it (hubby get's upset if he see's something on the shelf he thinks I haven't used).

I wanted to do a bright but simple card using a variety of soft colours, so this is what I came up with.  I embossed the card using the Confetti embossing folder, then I punched a 1'' circle from scrap card stock and using sponge daubers proceeded to add the colour. It was a very simple card to make and takes no time at all to put together. The Wink of Stella was added to the flowers.

This is the last of my cards for March so I'm now onto Aprils where again I have quite a few to complete.

The materials used are:
Ink: Blushing Bride, Pool Party, So Saffron, VersaMark
Markers: Pool Party
Card stock: Pool Party, So Saffron, Whisper White
Card base: NSU
Stamps: Blooming With Kindness (retired), Something To Say
Embossing powder: Clear
Embossing folders: Confetti
Punches: Itty Bitty Accents
Framelits: Ovals Collection
Accessories: Wink of Stella (on the three flowers)

Hello Note Card

Unwanted Background Comes Good

Today I'm showing you a card I made after doing two things, first I looked on a new blog site for me called Inspiring Inking and found a card similar to this that I thought was quite nice.  Next I went to get the materials I wanted to use and came across a discarded background that did ages ago and was unhappy with the effect. I looked at it for a while as it was the perfect colours for what I wanted to do and then thought what the heck, give it a try and this is what I ended up with.  Once completed I was quite happy with it, adding a focal point made all the difference.

It was sent to my daughter in law as I needed to send her something at the time and she was quite delighted with it when it arrived, so it was well worth doing.

The materials used are:
Ink: Blushing Bride, So Saffron, VersaMark
Card stock: blushing Bride, Whisper White
Card Base: Note card
Stamps: Hello, Serene Silhouettes, Timeless Textures
Embossing powder: Gold
Accessories: Perfect accents

Idea taken from Inspiring Inking by Amanda Fowler, thank you Amanda

She loved it and is going to have a go at making one herself. Will be interested to see what she comes up with as she,s not an SU junkie like me.

Have quite a few cards to go up just now so will be busy making and blogging in the next couple of weeks.

Going Global

23 Years and still going strong

Today I'm showing the card I made for my husband for our anniversary last month,  we have actually been together for 28 years but married for only 23.  It has flown by, and there has been lots of lovely memories made through journey of our life together.

The biggest thing for us is our holiday's we love traveling so I thought the Going Global stamp set and the World Traveler embossing folder would be a good combination for his card this year, we're doing a tour of America again taking in some places we have been and some we haven't.

The two we're returning to are two of my favourite places, Nashville and Memphis. I just loved the Grand Ole Opry and Graceland and look forward to going to both again later in the year. For our 25th we hope to go to Hawaii, if I don't spend all our money on Stampin'Up that is.

The materials used are:
Ink: Memento Black, Real Red, VersaMark
Card stock: Real Red, Whisper White
Stamps: Express Yourself (retired), Going Global
Embossing Powder: White
Embossing folders: World Traveler

Bloomin' Heart Butterfly

From Heart to Butterfly with love

My sister is not very well at the moment and I thought I would make her a something different to what I usually do for her this year, even though due to her being unwell she didn't get it on time as on her birthday she wasn't up to seeing anyone.  So she got it a few days late along with a bottle of Bailey's that always goes down well.

I had been with my lovely up line Peg, not long before making the card and we made a card like this one and so I tried it again at home and I must admit my sister really liked it.

Been really busy of late and so not blogging as often as I'd like but will try and get back into it I have a lot of cards to put up it's just finding the time to do it.

Take care and hope you have a lovely day.

The materials used are:
Inks: So Saffron, Wild Wasabi
