Happy Birthday Thinlit

Nice to have you visit today.

This was quite an easy card to make, there was very little stamping and loads of die cutting.

The color theory DSP was used as a base for the card.

I die cut two happy birthdays to give the sentiment a bit of shadow one in dapper denim and the second one with whisper white card which had been sponged with Marina Mist ink, I quite liked the graduated shading and was pleased with the outcome.

Don't you just love using the stitched shapes and layering framelits together they're always my go to for making things stand out, and the faux stitching gives that added dimension I like.

For the "Son" I used scrap pieces of whisper white and dapper denim placed on a strip of card.

The materials used are:
(r) = retired, (nsu) = not stampin’ up

Card stock: Dapper Denim, Thick Whisper White, Whisper White
Ink: Dapper Denim, Marina Mist
DSP: Color Theory
Stamp sets: Thoughtful Banners
Framelits: Layering squares, Stitched Shapes
Thinlits: Happy Birthday

Will be back again soon with more cards

Fidget Spinner

Hello and welcome, I wasn't sure about making this card but so glad I did as my nephew Jack was so impressed with it it was the first thing he showed people when they came with cards and presents. "Mum" wasn't amused as she'd spent a fortune on an Xbox game for him. He even took it to school to show class mates.

I came across a video on how to make the spinner (which does spin) on Youtube and decided to make one for him, but then I hit problems. I couldn't get my hands on one, my grandchildren all had them some time ago, so asked my daughter if I could borrow one to make a template but she said they'd all got broken (my little lovelies, are not very toy friendly) so then the hunt for a fidget spinner began.  It took me over a month to find one, but it was well worth it when my sister told me how much he liked it.

As you can see I'm not good at fussy cutting but he didn't look to closely at the edges it seems, and the rest was quite easy to do.

If you go to Youtube and type in bettysstampingcrazy fidget spinner it's the first video that comes up.

Daisy Delight

This is an easy card to make and didn't take long to do. Most of what I've used is in the current annual catalogue.

I just loved the vellum daisy with the leaf behind it from the flourish thinlit set. I also thought cutting across background at an angle made a nice change and finishing it off with some linen thread.

The materials used are:
Card stock: Powder Pink, Whisper White, Vellum,Wild Wasabi
Ink: Berry Burst, Powder Pink
DSP: In Color 17/9
Stamp sets: Avant Garden (r), Daisy Delight
Embossing folders: Petal Burst
Framelits: Layering Ovals, Stitched Shapes
Thinlits: Flourish
Punches: Daisy
Ribbon: Taffeta Pink Pirouette (r)
Accessories: Linen Thread

Will be back again soon with more cards
